Deer-Resistant Blooms for Mountain Gardens

Living in the mountains means sharing your garden with curious — and hungry — wildlife. If deer have been snacking on your hard work, don’t worry. There’s a solution that’s both beautiful and practical.

Here are our favourite deer-resistant blooms that add colour without becoming a snack:

- Lavender: Deer dislike the strong scent, but pollinators love it.
- Chives: An edible, aromatic addition that also repels nibblers.
- Yarrow: Hardy, drought-tolerant, and deer-resistant.
- Anise Hyssop: Beautiful spikes of purple that bees adore.
- Mint: Fragrant, easy to grow, and best kept in containers.

These plants aren’t foolproof, but they’re a great start for a garden that can stand up to the local wildlife. Bonus: They all pair beautifully in rustic bouquets and pollinator gardens!
